This picture book is done in the same style as the Lego City Adventure books, but is a different size and format. It is not one of the Leveled readers. The artwork is bright, vibrant and fun. In this book a new building is going up in Lego city and from excavation to completion we watch the workers in Lego city construct a new building. It is a fun, light, easy read that will be enjoyed by young readers.

This is a book about how to build a building. There is no actual story/plot (like the other Lego City books). Bummer. This book may be good for a younger child who doesn't need a story plot. My son (5 years old) likes the pictures and descriptions though.

Theory Construction

As a beginning researcher in medicine, I was quite surprised to find that medicine is considered an atheoretical science. Perhaps I missed a few classes along the way, but as a family physician, I thought I understood theory and theory development. That was until I really started thinking about it. After asking several researchers, mentors, and general queries to other physicians about theory development, I was left with the following: "This is very, very important, but I can't tell you how to start."
Strategies for Theory Construction in Nursing is a well written, easy to read book that gives a basic underpinning to theory development. It is the first book on this topic that I could easily understand. Concepts, statements and theories are developed through analysis, synthesis and derivation. This book, with examples, offers a step-by-step approach to development. It is well worth your time.

If you are a student in an MPhil/PhD program and have to do concept analysis, then this is a must have. Walker and Avant simplified the Wilsonian method. I followed the book and did a great job in my coursework and then in the conceptual and operational definition of the variables for my research proposal.

I am not the sharpest leaf on the tree and had been out of college for more than ten years before picking up this book. The book is organized well and the information is easily understood. Each chapter begins with Learning Objectives, 3 Good reasons why you should care, and Making the case for organizational behavior that introduces the material in the chapter with describing a real organization. One thing that is really cool about the book is that it comes with some nice companion content. There is a demo of the Cisco CCENT Mind Share Game, Wireshark example captures, Net-Challenge software, and samples of other certification guides.

To all the instructors that are considering using this book in their class, I think this is the perfect text to introduce networking. The chapters start by providing a chapter outline, define the objectives, list the key terms, and then provide a nice introduction to the topic.

At the end of each chapter there is a large set of questions and problems. There is also a section review and test your knowledge after each section. If your students take the time to complete these, they will really be driving home the chapter's material.

There are a ton of real production pictures, product specifications, diagrams, schematics, and screenshots that help to paint the full picture of the subject being covered. Throughout the book the authors also list key terms in the margins. There is also a nice glossary of key terms near the end of the book.

This book is one of the best overall networking books I have seen. It introduces everything and also goes deep enough to provide a clear understanding of the topic at hand.

I highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning about network and to instructors look for an excellent text book for their class. This book can teach the student on its own and they need no prior network experience.

Solid networking book for beginners, or refresh

This was the best networking bought I've bought that covers all the essentials, from a-z. It won't make you a CCNA or MCITP, but it will certainly get you on that path, if one of those is your goal.

Certainly not the cheapest book I've ever bought, as its more of a text book for a traditional class, than the typical book I've purchased, but it really is worth it if I.T. is a career you're interested in.

I've worked in I.T. for the better part of ten years, and this really has filled in the gaps in my knowledge. Since I've done mostly contract work, you're rather limited in scope in what you're brought on a project for, even though you might touch pieces of different technology to do your job, you never learn enough in depth to become an expert of sorts, as you're focused on your tasks at hand. This book is something I wish I had earlier in my career, and would again advise those new to the field, or those who've been in the field, but feel that they don't have the fundamentals down pat.

Many employers now expect their I.T. pros to know more than just servers, or just desktops, or just WAN.

I would highly recommend this as part of your library. As a CCNP candidate, I had to swallow some pride to go back to what many would consider a beginner's book, but it really is more than that.

Very detailed and easy to understand

I'm working on my Network+ certification and a professor for one of my CIS classes strongly recommended this text as it was easy to understand and provided you the information you needed to know to pass the exam. And he was correct. This text is detailed and very easy to understand. Provides all the information you need to know to pass the Network+ certification and also has practice questions to keep that brain of yours thinking. Highly recommend this text to those who are interested in getting their Network+ certification. Also makes a great intro book into networking. Heck, I think I may even get the Kindle edition just because it's easier to carry around a lightweight Kindle device vs a book, I also like to read laying down.

Wonderful January Story

I thought this book made a great addition to "The Saddle Club" series. It just goes to show that even the most horse-crazy girls still have a life outside the stable.

The story takes place in January, and nothing at all seems to be going on. Max, the stable owner, takes off for a very rare vacation, which means Pine Hollow has no club meetings, or horse lessons. Things just seem too quiet around the stables, and each Saddle Club girl feels like they have other things that they could be doing besides being around horses all day.

Carole is considering to sell her horse...
Stevie has a foot race to win...
and Lisa can always find new projects to work on...
Will they return to their old selves?

I really enjoyed this book, and I know if you are a horse-lover, you'll enjoy it as well!

A nice break!

I thought this book was a great idea! The SAaddle Club is tired of riding and the funny thing is when I get to this book in my series I need a break too because I get kinda sick about reading about horses horses horses and then this book makes me realize how much I miss reading about horses horses horses. The book is not boring at all. Just because the girls aren't with horses doesn't mean they are just sitting around. Each girl in busy and this book will keep you busy!

Answers to the Dressage person

Well, first of all, the piaffes. Horses that have benn trained to do a piaffe can, and it IS realistic. And IT'S A FICTION BOOK! Carole should not of gotten a dressage horse, because she's into jumping. Stevie is the one into Dressage and she has a dressage horse. Also, WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH THAT BOOK! Well, I think if you're like me, you'll like the book, but t won't be the best book you've ever read. Tired of horses? But everything else was good. I especially like how Bonnie matched up the tasks with the characters.
