You Can't Argue with Facts

It's legible, convenient, durable, water proof, etc.
It's a handy little cheat sheet.
I keep in a binder with the documents for a TI NSpire Calculator.

I was kinda hoping that it would cover microwave transmission parameters. Some of that is on the Circuit Theory/Analysis card.
Still, there was not much on the cards concerning practical impedance matching circuits. You just can't cram everything on a couple or three cards.

All the basics are there.
You should be able to derive the rest.

Can't complain

Stashed this away for reference on projects if anything is forgotten or disputed. No longer need internet if its not available. The quality is good, but the amount of information is overwhelming. If you are going to actually be studying for a class, I recommend making your own study card in addition to buying this as there are many benefits to doing so.

David Stump, ASC has worked on numerous motion pictures and television productions as Director of Photography, as Visual Effects Director of Photography, and as a Visual Effects Supervisor, garnering Emmy nominations and an Academy Award for Scientific and Technical Achievement. A member of the Producer's Guild of America (PGA), the Visual Effects Society (VES), the Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers (SMPTE), the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS), and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), Stump has worked in Digital Visual Effects for over 25 years, since the advent of Computer Generated Images for film. In 2001 he was accepted for full membership into the American Society of Cinematographers, where he is currently chairman of the Camera and Metadata Subcommittees of the ASC Technical Committee.

Comprehensive, easy to read; a valuable reference for everyone in digital image production.

Much like Alexis Van Hurkman's book, Color Correction Handbook: Professional Techniques for Video and Cinema (2nd Edition) (Digital Video & Audio Editing Courses) has become the defacto standard in reference for digital color grading, I predict this book will become the defacto standard for Cinematographers seeking in-depth information on the fundamentals behind digital cinema image capture. David Stump takes great pains to delve into all aspects of how digital sensors work, the math behind image capture, the complexities of various imaging color spaces, current digital camera systems and a plethora of other issues germane to the subject, but conveys it in a easy-going, informative manner. I especially appreciate how he reaches back into the History of Cinema Production to tie the current technology to the past; showing that while there are revolutionary aspects to digital production, it in the end is a continuation of the process of moving image production evolution, and is yet another tool in the arsenal for moving image production, rather an an island onto itself. While targeted specifically at cinematographers, this book should not be overlooked by any member of the image production chain. The comprehensive information contained within is valuable to anyone who wishes to understand digital image production from start to finish and should be on the shelf of any DIT, Editor, Colorist or person with a need to understand the underlying mechanisms that are used to create a digital moving image. Highly recommended.

Lots Of Info, But A Little Over-The-Top

I'm very impressed by what the book covers. It extensively covers the technologies that digital cameras use. Everything from the sensor to the lens, and then discusses things like color spaces, sampling rates, aspect ratios etc. The the last half of the book is devoted to camera setup, workflows, and displays (monitors) and recorders. There's also mini sections on specific info about many of the pro/prosumer cameras (as of ~2013).

There's certainly some good (even great) info in this book. I especially enjoyed the section on lenses and camera setup/operation. What I really didn't like was the first half of the book, for me it was painful to slog through that info because of how it was presented, and that was information that I was actually very interested in. For me though, and let me preface this by saying that I have an engineering degree and have had lots of college level math and physics, I would have much preferred much fewer equations and graphs and charts and theorems, and history., and much more qualitative discussion about achieving various results, anecdotes about in-the-field situations etc. But judging by the other reviews, I may be in the minority with that opinion, which is fine.

Gem of the Ocean recently played across the country and on Broadway, with Phylicia Rashad as Aunt Esther.

Earlier in 2005, on the completion of the final work of his ten play cycle-surely the most ambitious American dramatic project undertaken in our history-August Wilson disclosed his bout with cancer, an illness of unusual ferocity that would eventually claim his life on October 2. Fittingly the Broadway theatre where his last play will be produced in 2006 has been renamed the August Wilson Theater in his honor. A Gem of a Play

This is the play about the first decade of The Century Cycle. 1904 is its time, so several of the characters are ex-slaves including Aunt Esther who was born in 1619, the year the first slaves came to America; this very old woman is a soul-cleanser. Citizen Barlow comes from Alabama for cleansing. Caesar Wilks is an enforcer for the white establishment. Solly Two Kings used to help on the underground railroad. Aunt Esther takes Citizen Barlow on a spiritual ride to the "City of Bones." The people in the house dance and play juba and sing ring-shout songs, hangovers from slavery. However, Caesar is there to crush any displays of resistance to to the established order and carry out the tragic ending.

A brilliant start for the ten-play cycle depicting the African-American adventure in the United States. All ten plays were nominated for at least one drama award (this one for a Tony). Most were nominated for at least three awards. Eight won at least one of the awards. Eight won a New York Drama Critics Circle Award for best play. One won a Drama Desk Award for best play. One won a Tony for best play. Two won a Pulitzer Prize for best drama. August Wilson is one of the top five American playwrights of the 20th century.

a powerful statement on America at the turn of the last century

August Wilson's "Century Cycle" is a serial of 10 plays, each set in a different decade of the 20th century, each addressing the historical challenges African-Americans faced at that time, as well as speaking to the wider problems and issues that tie us together as humanity. The first play in the Cycle, _Gem of the Ocean_, is set in Pittsburgh in 1904. The primary players are Aunt Esther, a "soul-cleanser", Solly Two Kings, a former conductor on the underground railroad, and Citizen Barlow, a young man newly arrived up north from Alabama. As with many of Wilson's plays, the connection between past and present is of primary importance - in _Gem of the Ocean_, Barlow seeks to have his soul cleansed for a crime he has committed.

In "cleaning his soul," Esther takes Barlow (and the audience) on a spiritual journey aboard a slave ship, the "Gem of the Ocean," helping Barlow (and the audience) understand the journey that African-Americans have been on, and which we Americans (black and white) are still on. Rather than blame or preach about the evils of slavery and how it has affected African-Americans, Wilson instead asks us to pause, think and reflect on the injustices we have done and which have been done to us - and he asks us how we can make these transgressions right.

I have not yet had the opportunity to see the play performed, although I hope to soon; the play itself is an easy read (just under 90 pages), but a masterpiece writen by an author at the peak of his craft. Highly recommended.

Lisa remembers, at six years old, hiding in her grandmother's kitchen and eating six meatballs in under a minute. She was truly hungry, but she didn't want anyone to see her eat, so she binged in secret. Placed on restrictive diets beginning in kindergarten, she was continually sneak eating and binge eating as a child, partially out of rebellion against her narcissistic mother, mostly because she was ravenous all the time. After years of yo-yo dieting, binge eating and purging as a teen, and reaching nearly four hundred pounds, she sought out her first weight loss surgery at age twenty-three. She soon discovered that weight loss surgery isn't the easy way out. Her book, Diary of a Fat Girl, documents her first year after gastric bypass, her third in a series of weight loss surgeries that didn't work. She wrote every day as she unraveled the pain of her past and told, in painful detail, what it's like to recover from a severe eating disorder. Brutally telling the details of her weight-loss surgeries and struggles as the daughter of a narcissistic mother, Diary of a Fat Girl follows Lisa on her difficult journey to recovery. A page turner! Pick up this book and take a journey with Lisa.

This is a page turner! I was captivated because even though the writings were a compilation of her blog, I felt like I was reading her personal journal. She took me, the reader, through this journey with her. Lisa takes you through all the emotions. It was very moving.
I picked up Lisa's book since I have been in her classroom and heard her speak numerous times at Montclair State University. As expressive as Lisa is in the classroom, she does an amazing job expressing herself in this book. I found myself unable to put the book down! I look forward to the next book in this series.

A Must Have Resource

This book was given to us in our first year of dental school and I still reference it today, 15 years later. What is unique about this book is that it clearly illustrates, through shaded areas, where you may expect anesthesia to not only travel to, but how intense you may expect it to be. Not that giving local anesthesia is simple, but this book MAKES it simple through clear explanations. Anatomical drawings of nerves relative to bony landmarks as well as needle positioning are incorporated within one illustration at a time throughout the book and everything is tied up nicely with a "complication" section at the back of the book. In addition, the chemistry of locals as well as potential side effects are explained in the first chapters for beginners. One of my hygienists recently became certified to give local anesthesia in Massachusetts and found this book to be EXTREMELY useful.

Have this book right now but all those amazon sellers selling this book are clearing overpricing it due to low supply. I got mine for free from my faculty....its a tiny book about 100 pages with awesome information but charging more than a dollar a page?? just unreasonable.... ur better off searching google of pdf's of various dental's school LA resources...

About the Author
During his career, Dr. Walter C. Brown was a leading authority in the fields of drafting and print reading. He served as a consultant to industry on design and drafting standards and procedures and held a variety of professional offices of state and national associations. Ryan K. Brown is an Associate Professor in the Department of Technology at Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois. He has been involved with drafting education for over thirty years. His experiences include secondary education at the junior and senior high level; faculty member at his alma mater, Eastern Kentucky University; drafter for Sargent and Greenleaf, Inc.; geometric dimensioning and tolerancing consultant; and summer experiences in a wide array of drafting and graphics-based positions, such as steel detailing and civil engineering applications. His current roles in drafting education also include the authorship of activities and problems for secondary-level drafting competitions and architectural drafting applications that include 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and rendering and animation.

avoid this book, if at all possible

this book is pretty horrible, chock full of questions they barely give you the answers for, exercises that, I swear, are trying to trick you, and other related things. in one unit, they misspell questions as questi, and don't even have questions one or two, it literally starts on question three
it almost seems like the writers of this book couldn't make it as engineers, so they tried to write a school book, and then failed at that too
at this point, I have nothing but contempt for this book, and I'm pretty angry that I had to spend $100 on it because it was a required book for onwe of my classes
