OUTDATED AND MISLEADING

THIS IS NOT A TRUE BOOK. This is a PHOTOCOPY of a TYPEWRITTEN United States Army Marksmanship manual of the late 1960's or early 1970's. The supposed copyright of 2002 is misleading at best, and at worst is an outright lie. The date the manual was published by the Army has been removed from the Foreword.
All the references in the text seem to be from the 1960's, even one from the 1950's. Also, the text states there are two "volumes" to the "manual", and only the first is present - the second volume is missing.
While a lot of the material is quite useful, there are better sources for pistol marksmanship material, and far more recent.
The publisher, Fredonia Books (Netherlands), has played this trick before for marksmanship books - make a photocopy of a manuscript that is decades old, removed the initial publishing date, and posted a phony "publishing" date, which is actually their own COPYRIGHT date. I wonder how the U.S. Army feels about that.

More than a tech-manual

I am the owner/chief-firearms instructor of a firearms-training company, and as such, am constantly searching for information that will my students and I improve in our tactics. After reading numerous books that referenced or took excerpts from this book, I decided to 'go to the source'. Be warned: this is NOT an easy read! This book reads like it was wrote - a 'tech-manual'. It's a little better than the tech-manuals written in the '50s, but it is still a tech-manual nonetheless. The minutae that the book references can be irksome at first, but once you accept that the author(s) believe in the relevancy of the details, the lights come on. Whether you want to concentrate solely on marksmanship or improve your combat-shooting techniques, this book is invaluable. Buy it, study it, apply it, and your shooting skills will improve.

I have bullseye shot for years. But now in my later years, I needed help. I did not know there was so much more to this than just aiming. I'm better than in my younger eyes. And this book puts the descipline together so well and helped me get over some major hurdles.
